WHAT MADE YOU WANT A CAREER AS A MASSAGE THERAPIST?
I’ve always had a passion for helping people and animals. In my early 20’s I thought I could possibly enjoy a career in health care, so I started working towards a bachelors degree in Health Care Administration. Once I finished school I worked at a respected hospital, I realized that I wanted my career to be focused on affordable, preventative care. Massage Therapy began crossing my mind in high school, so I began researching the medical benefits. After I realized how much I could help people and animals, I was 100% sure the career choice was perfect for me! I immediately started searching for colleges, and chose Atlanta School of Massage . Massage school was one of the best experiences of my life, and I’ve been happy ever since!
Ashley graduated from Atlanta School of Massage on August 18th, 2017. She earned certifications in Swedish massage, deep tissue therapy, neuromuscular therapy, spa therapy, reflexology, and seated massage. Her license number is MT.0021124. It can be verified through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. She is also a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), and is insured through the association. Her member number with AMTA is 1517805.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?
For this year I want to just focus on helping people and gaining experience. I may take some continuing education classes in Thai Massage, Orthopedics, Rehabilitative Massage, or Oncology Massage. I have been thinking about becoming certified by The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB), and I may be able to by the end of 2018.
I would also absolutely love to learn canine massage! I work at Colorado Animal Rescue too, and if you need a pet sitter at your home while you are away, feel free to give me a call.
